Can auditors work from home?

Whilst remote audits have occurred for a number of years they have increased in popularity due to the COVID-19 pandemic and many have found they prefer this method, as a result, many auditors, including internal auditors, now work from home.

Remote Auditing is often undertaken via video conferencing, for example through Zoom or Microsoft Teams. Remote Auditing is often cheaper for the client due to reduced consultant expenses and, in addition, where clients have a number of sites it allows various team members from across the UK, or globally, to join the call. Moreover, remote auditing can also help organisations to reduce their carbon footprint.
