Before and during the course FAQs
If you would like to extend your skills to audit organisations within your supply chain against ISO 9001:2015, you may like to take a look at our ISO 9001 Lead Auditor training course.
If you would like to be part of the implementation of a QMS, you can benefit from attending the ISO 9001 Implementation training course.
In addition, there are a number of specialist skills that you can acquire that will add value to your internal auditor role. These include Process Mapping, Remote Auditing, Root Cause Analysis, Integrated Management Systems and Six Sigma.
CQI and IRCA uses a remote invigilating service called Easy Proctor. The system takes images of your photo ID and your face, and records your presence using the webcam and microphone and your screen during the exam.
Once the exam is over, Easy Proctor checks your photo ID against your facial image to verify your identify. It will also analyse the exam session recording to check for unexpected sounds, movement, objects or people, for example. If it spots what it thinks are anomalies, the system will flag these to CQI and IRCA.
CQI and IRCA will arrange for a female proctor to check the identification and proctoring recording of a female Muslim learner.
Upon completing a CQI and IRCA certified training course with Bywater, you will receive a certificate and be able to add the course to your CV and LinkedIn profile. This will show your employer and future employers that you have the skills and experience to audit a management system.
Some delegates register with IRCA (International Register of Certificated Auditors) after completing the course. The IRCA grade you can obtain depends on your training course and career experience. Our Lead Auditor training courses satisfy the learning requirements for becoming an IRCA Lead Auditor.
Becoming an IRCA certified auditor is beneficial. You can appear on the online register for auditors, gain access to IRCA's eLibrary, and network with other professionals in your field. Further details of IRCA benefits can be found here.

Lean is a business improvement methodology that focuses on raising levels of efficiency and effectiveness by identifying and eliminating waste.
Lean can be used to improve a wide variety of business activities, including manufacturing, service and administrative processes. It can also be used to improve the quality of products and services, reduce costs, and increase customer satisfaction.
The Lean philosophy is based on five principles:
- Identifying the value that customers place on the products or services that you provide.
- Using value streams to map the flow of activities required to create and deliver those products or services.
- Improving flow by removing waste from the value stream through eliminating unnecessary steps, delays, and duplication.
- Applying ‘pull’ to produce products or services only when customers demand them.
- Aiming for perfection by striving for continuous improvement in all aspects of your operations.
