Before and during the course FAQs
Yes, you will receive a certificate of attendance, which you are free to use to update your CV and career profile on platforms such as LinkedIn.
No, this course includes our ISO 14001 Internal Auditor training course, so you will be given an understanding of the knowledge and practical skills involved in auditing your own organisation’s environmental management system against ISO 14001.
We are unable to supply you with copies of standards to take away. However, if your organisation is already working towards or has achieved certification to a standard, it is very likely that there is a copy available at your place of work. If not, you can buy a copy on the website of the relevant standards organisation.
Bywater does provide each delegate with a copy of the course workbook, which they can use as a reference during the course, add their own notes, and use as a handy reference when they are back at their desks.
Full hard-copy course notes are provided to delegates on all Bywater courses in advance. We recommend that you also bring your own tools for noting further useful information that comes out of discussion and workshops with fellow delegates and the course tutor. We do not record training sessions for solo viewing as we believe that the interactive element is essential to your learning experience.
Feedback from past delegates suggests that the course documentation is helpful during and after the course. One delegate commented that: ‘The handouts and workbook were incredibly thorough – having all these documents I can refer back to any time I want after the training is really useful’. Another said: ‘The course materials were excellent and will be useful reference guides’.
We run this 1-day course at venues across the UK and online in our global Virtual Classroom. It can also be delivered exclusively for your business on an in-company basis.
Bywater process mapping training is led by one of our expert tutors, who is available in real time to guide and answer questions as the course progresses. Because we limit class sizes, everyone gets the opportunity to be part of the discussion.
The Bywater Introduction to ISO 9001:2015 course provides a good grounding for anyone interested in the role of quality management systems and requirements of ISO 9001. It also offers a valuable foundation for those who wish to learn how to apply their knowledge to auditing. Delegates completing the course will receive a Bywater Certificate of Attendance.
Aspiring auditors can then progress from this course onto our CQI and IRCA certified ISO 9001 Lead Auditor and Internal Auditor training courses. Here they will learn practical skills and will be required to demonstrate their new knowledge by passing an approved exam at the end of the course. Their success will be acknowledged with a globally recognised and career-enhancing Certificate of Achievement.
Yes, we will send you pre-course work with your joining instructions. The aim of this work is to help you understand your current quality management knowledge and be able to participate confidently in group discussions from day one.
The work only takes about 2 hours to complete, and we do not ask you to send it back to us before the start of the course.
Kaizen is an approach that focuses on culture and philosophy to help build an environment of continuing improvement. If you think you would like to learn about Kaizen as well as 5S, then our Kaizen and 5S training course may be the right choice for you.
You could also take a look at the Value Stream Mapping training, which shows you how to visualise processes across the value chain to highlight where improvements can be made.
For those with a wider interest in continuing improvement, we offer comprehensive Lean Practitioner training as well as a range of certified Six Sigma courses.
This 1-day course comprises a half day on each of Kaizen and 5S. You can choose to attend just for a half day to learn about either 5S or Kaizen, or for the whole day. Please contact us for more information.
Six Sigma can be used to make improvements around an organisation. It can help
- Improve the quality of products and services by reducing defects and variability
- Reduce costs by eliminating waste and improving efficiency
- Increase customer satisfaction by providing products and services that meet or exceed their expectations
- Raise employee morale by providing opportunities for employees to contribute to process improvement and by recognising and rewarding employees for their contributions.
