Once you have completed our ISO 17025 Lead Auditor training course and passed the associated exam, you will be awarded a certificate. This is evidence that you have trained with an organisation approved by the professional body, CQI and IRCA. You can use this certificate to highlight your new skills to colleagues and employers, add to your CV, and update your LinkedIn profile.

The 5-day course is equivalent to 40 hours CPD.

You don’t need prior knowledge of auditing, but it will help you to gain maximum value from this course if you have some understanding of ISO 17025. Yes, we will send you a certificate as evidence of your attendance after the course. You can use the certificate to demonstrate your achievement on your career history and LinkedIn profile, as well as sharing it with your employer and colleagues.

The process of implementing a QMS based on ISO 17025 in laboratories requires understanding, action and continual improvement. The steps include:

• understanding the requirements of ISO 17025 and how it differs from ISO 9001
• conducting a gap analysis to understand where you need to change your existing quality management system
• documenting necessary policies and processes to answer the requirements of the standard
• conducting internal audits to check and improve your systems
• initiating the accreditation process

You can purchase a copy of ISO 15189:2022 – the latest edition of the standard – from the International Organization for Standardization (iso.org) or resellers in local countries. It is available in English, French and Spanish.

The International Organization for Standardization suggests that while ISO 15189 is aimed at medical laboratories, it can equally provide benefits in other healthcare disciplines, such as diagnostic imaging, respiratory therapy, physiological sciences, blood banks and transfusion services.

The goal is similar for all these services – to promote the welfare of patients and confidence in the quality and competence of the service being provided.
