Kevin attended an In-house training course for OHSAS 18001 Internal Auditor, this has helped increase his knowledge ready for an audit in October.

What were your training objectives?

Our faculty have a health and safety audit in October and we wanted to get an idea of what was expected and what they would be looking for. We can also then be part of auditing teams elsewhere in the organisation.

What learning did you take from the course?

The whole course was beneficial, it was very interactive rather than just being talked at. It has helped me understand the type of conversations that we need to have in the auditing process

Have you been able to apply anything since the course?

Not yet as the training was fairly recent but it won’t be long before I put it to good use. My colleague who also attended the training will be conducting an audit on the Dental Institute shortly.

What have been the benefits for you and the business?

I have recently taken on the remit for health and safety so this has helped me understand this better.

How was the tutor?

David was great. I was concerned I would be attending two days of tedious training but from his first introduction he was friendly and outgoing, he made everyone feel comfortable. Course materials were good.

What were the benefits of having the training In-house at your organisation?

Easier for all delegates to get to the training with no additional travel requirements.

Any advice to delegates?

Go in with an open mind, be willing to actively engage in the training.

Would you recommend Bywater?

Yes, I wouldn’t hesitate to use Bywater for similar training. It was well run with a good tutor and I had a positive experience.
