This 2-day ISO 50001 Internal Auditor training course is designed to equip delegates with the knowledge and skills required to plan and conduct internal audits of an energy management system (EnMS). The course focuses on the practical application of ISO 50001, enabling attendees to assess conformity, evaluate effectiveness and identify opportunities to improve energy performance and efficiency.

This 50001 Internal Auditor course is intended for individuals who have an understanding of energy management principles and want to develop the competence to undertake internal audits of an EnMS.

Delegates with limited prior exposure to ISO 50001 may benefit from first attending an Introduction to ISO 50001 training course, which provides an overview of the standard and key energy management concepts.

By the end of this ISO 50001 Internal Auditor training course, delegates will understand the principles of internal EnMS auditing and be able to:

  • plan, conduct, report and follow up internal audits of an energy management system in line with ISO 50001 and the standard for auditing management systems ISO 19011
  • explain how the energy management system operates using a process-based approach aligned to the Plan, Do, Check, Act cycle
  • assess the effectiveness of controls relating to significant energy uses and energy performance indicators
  • gather and evaluate objective evidence through interviews, observation and sampling
  • produce clear, factual audit reports that support corrective action and continual improvement in energy performance

Following successful completion, delegates will receive an ISO 50001 Internal Auditor training course certificate.
