Jackie attended the ISO 9001 Internal Auditor training in Manchester, although already very experienced in auditing and the ISO 9001 standard she found the course gave her a big confidence boost in her ability and knowledge. She now feels she would like to pursue a career as an Auditor.

What were your training objectives?

The Quality Assurance team had been struggling dealing with non conformities from suppliers as they are out on the road, so they wanted to have an office based certified Auditor to offer additional support. I already dealt with auditing issues and so the course was to provided the formal training and the CQI and IRCA certification.

What learning did you take from the course?

I have had a lot of experience with auditing so found the course very straightforward. It was definitely worth attending as it refreshed my knowledge on areas that I don’t use very often.

It also made me realise how much knowledge I had on auditing and the standard.

What have been the benefits for you and the business?

It had made me feel much more confident in this area and in my own ability. I feel very positive about making a move to become an Auditor in my career.

How was the tutor?

Allan was very good and took the time to help some delegates who were not familiar with auditing or the standard. He was very good at answering questions and providing additional support where required.

What was the venue like?

I was a residential delegate and found the accommodation and breakfast at he Cheadle hotel in Manchester very good. The bar was a little busy at times in the evening. The drinks provided throughout the day were excellent.

Any advice to delegates?

Read up on the standard so that you are familiar with it, some delegates attended the Introduction course which helped them understand the audit.

Would you recommend Bywater?

Yes I would. A number of the team have been trained by Bywater before in both public and in-house training, and with a new public Newcastle venue that will be an ideal location for us.
