Scott completed the ISO 9001 Lead Auditor Training course in Manchester in February and has increased his understanding of the ISO 9001 standard.

What were your training objectives?

To be able to carry out internal and external audits, in particular suppliers. The training was also to help develop my career.

What learning did you take from the course?

I already look after contracts and procedures so it wasn’t all new to me but the ISO 9001 standard was new. It was very much learning the standard and how to apply to audits and the organisation

Have you been able to apply anything since the course?

I am putting together an internal audit schedule with the Quality Manager, we will then plan external audits. The Quality Manager is also supporting me by sitting in on the first 2 or 3 internal audits that I conduct and then we will repeat for the external audits.

What have been the benefits for you and the business?

We will have a team of auditors who will be able to complete internal and external audits, so this will provide support for the Quality Manager

How was the tutor?

Jeff was fantastic and clearly had a great deal of experience and knowledge in auditing and the standard. He was good at explaining the ISO 9001 standard. He made the course interesting and it was not boring at all. The course materials helped as well.

What was the venue like?

The hotel in Manchester was great, no complaints.

Any advice to delegates?

Go with a clear mind and have a look at he clauses of ISO 9001 before the course.

I would recommend staying as a residential delegate at the hotel so that you can stay focused on the course, do your homework and have no travel time during the course.

Would you recommend Bywater?

Yes definitely, a few of my colleagues have previously completed the training with Jeff.
