Richard attended the ISO 9001 Lead Auditor training in Leeds, and has been able to refresh his knowledge and update to the 2015 standard.

What were your training objectives?

Having recently launched my own consultancy service to help SME’s transition to the 2015 edition of ISO 9001, and despite having extensive experience of managing QM systems, I needed the course to refresh my understanding of the standard and be fully aware of auditing requirements.

What learning did you take from the course?

To understand the full methodology of auditing and the activities needed to prepare fo the audit process. The role plays and activities that were included in the course were invaluable for putting the learning into practice

Have you been able to apply anything since the course?

I am currently working with businesses to smooth the transition to 2015 standard. I am referring to information and practices I learned from the course to help deliver the service to the clients. The clients that I have been dealing with certainly have so far been very pleased with the service delivered, based on the learnings from the course. Furthermore 3rd party auditors that have been auditing have also acknowledged that the consulting service I have given has aided the auditing process.

What have been the benefits for you and the business?

For my role in my business, knowledge of the standard and how to implement and audit it are key to my business. The course was essential to the success of my business. I am now winning contracts on the basis of my experience and the training provided by this course. In due course I plan to become IRCA registered.

How was the tutor?

The tutor was the lead trainer for Bywater and he was engaging, shared many examples of his experience and was keen to share this experience and expertise with the course attendees. He made the subject relevant and interesting.

What was the venue like?

Oulton Hall was generally a very good venue with good meals. However, the availability of refreshments to the room was not well managed by the hotel. More positives than negatives

Any advice to delegates?

Familiarise yourself with the standard before you attend the course. Consider how the standard requirements impact on your business

Would you recommend Bywater?

I would certainly and the trainer we had was very experienced and was able to give good examples of the work and give good tips.
