Artificial intelligence offers major benefits to businesses, and its use is spreading rapidly. We are already seeing AI-based services being rolled out in functions such as finance, healthcare, retail, HR and customer service.
AI offers tempting potential benefits, such as greater efficiency, insights and cost savings, but it also comes with risks that could lead to unsafe decision-making. Added to that is a level of mistrust of AI within the general population that needs to be addressed.
This makes it important for organisations to demonstrate that they can identify and control likely risks, to ensure fairness, accountability and transparency.
How to address the challenges?
For a growing number of organisations, the solution is to implement an AI management system (AIMS) that conforms to the guidance set out in the ISO 42001 standard.
An AIMS can help an organisation:
Learning how to apply an AIMS in your organisation
To help you prepare for and manage an AIMS in your organisation, Bywater is introducing 2 new practical training courses: Introduction to ISO 42001 and ISO 42001 Internal Auditor.
Introduction to ISO 42001 is a 1-day course that explores managing the use of AI in the creation and provision of products and services, and outlines the requirements of the relevant ISO 42001:2023 standard.
ISO 42001 Internal Auditor training then builds on delegates’ basic understanding of the standard to give them the skills to carry out audits of AIMS.
These interactive courses join our popular programme of training enabling customers to understand, implement and manage standards-based management systems such as quality management systems (ISO 9001), information security management systems (ISO 27001), environmental management systems (ISO 14001) and health and safety management systems (ISO 45001).
As with our other training courses, they will be available on a face-to-face basis at centres around the UK, or online in our live Virtual Classroom.
